Robert co-founded East West Basics in 1998 carrying a philosophy he’d spent years building: the deepest advantage in global manufacturing isn’t price or speed — it’s trust and integrity. His family’s roots in Asia sourcing run back to the 1960s, and Robert grew up watching what long-term factory relationships actually look like. He built EWB to operate the same way — with the patience to earn real partnerships and the discipline to protect them. Three decades in, that approach still defines how EWB works.
Jason co-founded East West Basics alongside Robert Sperling in 1998, bringing factory relationships and operational depth built across decades in Asian manufacturing. Like Robert, Jason’s connection to Asian manufacturing runs deep — his family’s roots in the industry stretch back generations, beginning in Taiwan before expanding into China. His network of production partnerships across China and Southeast Asia formed the foundation of EWB’s sourcing infrastructure and continues to anchor the company’s manufacturing capabilities today.
Over more than two decades at EWB, John has built some of the company’s most significant and longest-running client relationships. As a senior partner, he brings decades of institutional knowledge to every program he oversees — spanning multiple product categories, major retail formats, and deep factory partnerships across Asia.
Zach grew up in global sourcing and carries its legacy forward with a modern focus on risk management, quality, and growth. As Executive Director, he works directly with brands to build sourcing programs that scale — bridging U.S. product strategy with the Asia operations team that executes it, identifying potential problems on both sides and solving them before they have a chance to compound.
Jenna owns the part of the process where most production failures begin: the gap between an approved sample and reliable mass production. As Head of Product, she builds the tight specs, pre-production risk assessments, and QC protocols that ensure what a client approves is exactly what arrives, repeatedly, at volume, and as timelines tighten.
Marcy works closely with leading brands to design, develop, and scale innovative product lines from concept to production. Leveraging deep expertise in product development, retail strategy, and live commerce, she helps clients identify growth opportunities across major retail channels including QVC, HSN, online marketplaces, and big box retailers. By combining strategic brand positioning with hands-on product design and development insight, Marcy helps brands expand their reach, strengthen retail partnerships, and bring market-ready products to life.
Nancy runs EWB’s Asia operations from our Shenzhen headquarters, overseeing a team of 50+ specialists across production, account management, and quality control. She manages both the factory network that powers EWB’s sourcing platform and the programs running through it — keeping every order on spec, on schedule, with no gaps across five countries.
Amy leads EWB’s client operations team in Asia, overseeing the full production lifecycle — from initial concept through final shipment — across EWB’s largest and most complex accounts. Her team handles real-time factory coordination, milestone tracking, and issue resolution — catching problems before they become problems.
Sunny leads EWB’s factory quality and operations team, responsible for on-site production oversight, pre-production assessments, and quality monitoring across EWB’s most complex manufacturing programs. A skilled factory negotiator with an extensive network across Asia, he manages both existing factory relationships and the identification of new manufacturing partners — ensuring EWB always has the right factory for every product and client requirement.
Vicky brings product concepts to life through detailed renderings, technical CADs, and design specifications that bridge the gap between idea and production. Working alongside EWB’s sourcing and manufacturing teams in Shenzhen, she translates client visions into precise, factory-ready documentation — ensuring that what a brand imagines is exactly what gets built.Â

We manufacture across five countries in Asia: China, Vietnam, Cambodia, India, and Bangladesh. Our Shenzhen office serves as the operational hub for factory coordination, with on-the-ground teams embedded in each market. Our U.S.-based team works directly with our clients on product strategy, development, and program management.
